CLASS OF 2026
2026 GCSE RESULTS
Outstanding results — 9–7 grades in English and Maths doubling to 23%, our girls are heading into a bright next chapter.
Our Year 11s have done themselves proud !

Our Year 11 students have every reason to celebrate their GCSE results. As one of the area's proudest girls' schools, we already knew what our young women were capable of — and this year they took an already strong school and made it stronger still.
We were especially delighted to see the strength of our results in English and Maths, where the proportion of students achieving the highest grades of 9–7 almost doubled, rising from 12.5% to 23% — a standout result in a year full of them.
What matters most, though, is the success of every individual girl. Whether she achieved the very highest grades, secured the qualifications for her chosen next step, or exceeded her own expectations, every one of our students can be enormously proud of what she has accomplished. These results are a testament to their resilience and determination — bold, brilliant young women who worked incredibly hard throughout their GCSE courses.
We are especially proud to welcome many of these students back to Newlands Sixth Form, where they will spend the next two years leading, being heard, and preparing for whatever comes next. Wherever their journey takes them, we know they will continue to achieve great things.
Congratulations to every member of the Class of 2026 — you have made us all incredibly proud.
2026 A LEVEL RESULTS
Outstanding results — 54% of A Levels at A–B, 97% of BTEC students at Merit or above, and 46% heading to Russell Group universities.
Our Year 13s have done themselves proud !

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 13 students. The results secured by our Sixth Form cohort are a testament to their dedication, resilience and hard work throughout their studies.
Our students achieved a fantastic set of grades. 54% of A Levels were graded A*–B and an impressive 27% of all grades were an A* or A. We are equally proud of our BTEC students, 97% of whom achieved a Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.
Within these results there are many personal success stories. In particular, we would like to recognise the 16 students who achieved three or more A* and A grades, including three students who secured A*s in all their A Levels.
We are also delighted that 46% of the year group progressed to Russell Group universities, including Oxbridge. Students have moved on to study subjects such as International Relations, Geology, Nursing, Law and Mathematics at institutions ranging from Durham, Liverpool and Oxford Brookes to SOAS, UCL and Cambridge. Others have begun apprenticeships, including Marketing and Public Relations with Royal Caribbean — a reminder that there is no single route to success, and that our students thrive across academic and vocational pathways alike.
One of the highlights of results day is welcoming students back to collect their results in person. It is a privilege to share in their excitement, celebrate their successes and hear about their plans for the future. Our students should be immensely proud of all they have accomplished.
These results are a celebration of the entire Newlands community, and we could not be prouder.
CLASS OF 2025
2025 GCSE RESULTS
Outstanding GCSE results — a celebration of achievement and resilience

We were thrilled to congratulate our Year 11 students on a fantastic set of GCSE results. It was a pleasure to welcome them back to school and share in the celebrations of their hard work and success. We are incredibly proud of all our students, from those who achieved straight 9–7 grades to those who secured the GCSE passes they needed to progress to their next stage of education.
These results reflect the extraordinary dedication and resilience of our students, supported by the tireless efforts of our staff and the unwavering encouragement of parents, carers and families. Our Year 11 cohort has consistently demonstrated maturity, leadership and determination throughout their GCSE journey, and these results are a fitting reward for their efforts.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each and every student and look forward to welcoming many of them back to join us in the Sixth Form.
2026 A LEVEL RESULTS
A Level & BTEC results — a fabulous set of well-deserved outcomes

We were delighted with the success of our 2025 Sixth Form cohort. Our students produced a fabulous set of well-deserved results, with almost half of all grades at A*–B, and the majority of our BTEC students achieving Distinction* or Distinction.
It is always wonderful to see students collecting their results in person and to celebrate alongside them. We attribute such success to the hard work of our brilliant Sixth Formers and to the staff who relentlessly go above and beyond to offer their support — something the students are keen to tell us frequently! Thank you, and a huge well done, to the entire Newlands community.
We wish every one of our students the very best of luck as they begin the next phase of their lives.
