At Newlands Girls' School, our House system is at the very heart of school life. From the moment a student joins us, she becomes part of a House family — a community within a community that offers friendship, belonging and a healthy dose of friendly rivalry!

Throughout the year, our Houses go head-to-head in an exciting programme of competitions, and there really is something for everyone. Whether your talent lies in baking, singing, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, music or sport — or you're a whizz at spelling bees and quizzes — there are countless opportunities to step up, have a go and earn precious points for your House.

Our House competitions are about so much more than winning (although the roar of the crowd when the trophy is lifted is something special!). They build confidence, teamwork and school spirit, giving every girl the chance to shine, discover new talents and create memories that last long after she leaves us.
