Clubs, fixtures, activities and trips

The Department run a number of extra-curricular clubs in a range of activities:

  • Netball
  • Hockey
  • Gym
  • Dance
  • Swimming
  • Badminton
  • Trampolining
  • Fitness
  • Cricket
  • Football
  • Athletics
  • Tennis
  • Rounders

Clubs run at lunchtimes and also after school. General clubs are open to all pupils regardless of ability, whether they wish to improve their skills and play a sport for fun or have the opportunity to be chosen to represent the school.  In order to boost our successes at higher competitive levels we run additional squads in Netball, Hockey, Gym, Dance, Tennis and Swimming. These are additional training sessions than our regular clubs and pupils are required to trial or audition for these groups.

We run teams in all age groups in most activities, with girls being selected through attending the general extracurricular clubs. All activities allow us to field a number of teams, giving all pupils the opportunity to compete at a level suitable for them. Team sheets are displayed on the PE noticeboard and girls are responsible for indicating their availability on the team sheet.

We have been successful in a range of competitions over the past few years including representing Berkshire in the U12 South Hockey and U14 and U16 South Netball tournaments, having medallists at the National Sports Acro-gymnastics finals, competing in the South round of the Track and Field Athletics Cup and also having a number of girls competing at the County and also English Schools’ Athletics finals.
