KS3
Pupils have two lessons a fortnight in Music at KS3 studying four topics per year. Topics are a mix of performing, composing and listening tasks with a formal recorded assessment at the end of each unit. Pupils work through internally written booklets which they may take home to practice and use as they wish.

Unit 3 – Pop Music Ostinato
Unit 4 – African Music
Year 8
Unit 5 – Programmatic Music
Unit 6 – Musical Textures
Unit 7 – Musicals
Unit 8 – World Music (Indian, Calypso, Reggae)
Year 9
Unit 9 – Music in Advertising
Unit 10 – The Blues
Unit 11 – Musical Futures – Pop Song Covers
Unit 12 – Film Music
