Year 10 - GCSE

Performance

Continue practising your instrument/voice building up your repertoire ready to select at least one solo piece ready for recording in Year 11.  You may also want to start thinking about possible ensemble performance pieces for Year 11.  If you are struggling to think of something suitable email Mr Beach and he will help source you something suitable to enable you to complete that part of the course.

Composition

If you have Sibelius software at home you can continue working on your compositions there.  Otherwise using a guitar/piano/online program you can continue working on your chord progressions, melody ideas and lyrics for your song (If appropriate).  Also continue researching and listening around other pieces in the genre of music you have chosen to compose in.

Analysis and Set-Works

Revise your knowledge and understanding of the two set-works studied to date – Purcell and Bach using the revision materials, anthologies and CDs previously provided.  In addition to this, Mr Beach will be sending you weekly lessons regarding the new set-work of Beethoven’s piano Sonata so check your emails regularly for information and tasks to complete from him.
