Lesson One – Listening task

Four Seasons – Spring

  • Research ‘Spring’ from Four Seasons. Who is the composer? What Period was the piece written in? Is there anything that surprises you about what you found?
  • Listen to the track three times and make a note of all of the musical features that you hear.

Lesson Two – Musictheory.net

  • Access Musictheory.net
  • Click on Exercises along the top bar
  • Spend 15 minutes on Staff Identification – Note Identification and see how many notes you can correctly identify on the stave
  • Spend 15 minutes on Staff Identification – Chord Identification and see how many chords you can correctly identify

 

Lesson Three – Research task

  • Create a research page detailing features of the Baroque Period
  • Consider the Elements of Music when designing your page

 

Lesson Four – Listening Task

  • Research another famous Vocal piece from the Baroque Period. You could consider a piece by Bach, Handel or Vivaldi
  • Listen to the track three times and make a note of all of the musical features that you hear.

  • Log on to you Focus on Sound account.
  • Select Lessons on the Task Bar and then select ‘Music Theory’
  • Complete three of the lessons of your choice. Consider which area of Music Theory you need to develop your understanding of
