It is run entirely by volunteers and the Maidenhead U3A is just one of many local U3As all over the UK, each being a registered charity in its own right.
The Maidenhead U3A has around 500 members and in addition to the above Computer Group at Newlands it provides an extremely very wide range of activities to promote the quality an active life of seniors. These include: monthly meetings, educational study groups featuring science and a range of languages; creative activities such as making music, needlecraft, debating current affairs, family history; leisure pursuits such as walking, gardening, cards and other games. There are more than 50 different activity groups in all.
