This year we are taking the EDEXEL GCE in DRAMA and THEATRE STUDIES. Students study History of Theatre as well as acting in both scripted and devised work. They visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
They also study the work of Bertolt Brecht. We attend an annual Brecht workshop with consortium schools in order to support our work in school. The course starts with a play performed in October by Year 12 and
13 students. The examination itself comprises of two units in each year, in year 12 students are examined on their acting skills and their knowledge of Brecht. In year 13 students perform a devised piece and study two set plays for the written examination. Students perform their work to friends and family at THE AS/A2 SHOWCASE.
