Curriculum
At Key StageĀ 4 Public Examinations are the main means of assessing attainment in the National Curriculum. The GCSE syllabus reflects the requirements of the National Curriculum. Currently Newlands Girls' School follows the OCR Art & Design GCSE syllabus. The students are expected to work initially on teacher-directed projects in a variety of approaches. The course becomes more individually based and less formally structured as it progresses. Pupils are encouraged to pursue work in a direction which interests them negotiated with their teacher. Visits to Museums & Galleries are encouraged.
